I also tried XHTML 1.0 Strict. I serve the xhtml pages with "application/xhtml+xml" media type. Mozilla shows me, that its in standards compliance mode. I also tried "text/html". Mozilla is still in standards compliance mode. But neither setting changed the rendering in the browsers. Christoph
