XLink & Style

hello ,

I want to use xlinks to develop a website,  could anyone suggest me if
there is any support for xlinks in the current browser versions of
either IE (6.0)  or Netscape(7.0) ? Do they support extended links?

Or is it that xlink elements have to be displayed using some xslt
stylesheets?
