Web Fonts: New W3C Working Draft

A new W3C Working Draft has just been released, which extends CSS1 to
allow for the description of fonts. These descriptions enable

- improved client-side font matching, rather than simple name matching
- client-side synthesis of simailar-looking fonts
- dynamic download of fonts from a web server, for use by the stylesheet.

Public comment is invited, and should be sent to this list.

The draft is a product of the W3C Cascading Style Sheets and Formatting
Properties working group, and builds on the recommendations of the W3C
Fonts working group.
