Jim, Mike, Dan Thanks for your explanations. It clarifies. What it means in the Topic Map universe (that is where the ontologies will be used, actually) is that we should use the URIs as "base names" (used for topic identification and merging), and use "Thing" in both cases as a display name in user interface. Concerning the non-unique name assumption, we can live with that, given that in the framework of MOSES, we'll have names for those "things" in Italian and Danish anyway (no to mention French for my personal use). More to come about it anyway. I would like to deliver ASAP proposals about using OWL classes as Published Subjects ... Bernard
