Apologies, there was a mirroring problem that I didn't notice because,
strange enough,
the link was working in Europe (where I am now at the moment).
I say "strange enough" because usually it's the opposite, i.e. Europe has a
lag
wrt the US, but here it was not just the normal mirror lag but a different
problem
(at least, that's what our sysadmin's told me ;)
Anyway, now fixed.
