XQuery meeting in Seattle March 5th

We're having a Seattle-based meeting for programmers and others interested
in XQuery, the W3C's candidate for an XML query language. The XQuery
specification is currently moving through the W3C approval process toward
Recommendation status, expected sometime later this year (?)

The meeting is open to anyone who's interested in XQuery, with the caveat
that the focus of the meeting is going to be primarily technical in nature.
The meeting might be useful to you if you have particular questions about
XQuery. We'll also use it as a forum for general discussion about the
specification: if you're unhappy with anything about the language, your
comments at the meeting might serve as valuable feedback for the working
group. At this point we're only looking at the one date, although it's
possible this might become a regular, monthly event if there's sufficient
interest.

The initial organizers are Howard Katz of Fatdog Software in Vancouver, BC
and Denise Draper of Nimble Technology in Seattle. Fatdog sells a product
called XML Query Engine, which supports an XQuery front end. Denise is Chief
Software Architect at Nimble, as well as a member of the XML Query working
group. Denise (206-268-8000) is kindly making Nimble's offices available for
the meeting. If you have questions, feel free to get a hold of either Denise
or myself.
