The XML Query WG does not feel that "cursor support" or a "language binding" for XQuery is mandatory for Version 1.0. We have several participants on the WG that have done a lot of work like this but we have agreed that language bindings are not part of the functionality "required to declare victory on XQuery 1.0". We expect to take up this requirement after XQuery 1.0 is completed. /paulc Chair, XML Query WG Paul Cotton, Microsoft Canada 17 Eleanor Drive, Nepean, Ontario K2E 6A3 Tel: (613) 225-5445 Fax: (425) 936-7329 <mailto:pcotton@microsoft.com> -----Original Message----- From: Parag Tijare [mailto:parag@almaden.ibm.com] Sent: Wednesday, January 23, 2002 8:56 PM To: www-ql@w3.org Subject: cursor support Are there any plans to address the issue of cursor support in the XQuery specification?
