Previous Telcon Minutes: http://www.w3.org/2005/05/16-qa-minutes.html

Minutes:

 * Dublin Information

(KD) The plan is to email hotel information to the QA WG next week.

 * Telcon scheduled for 30 May 2005

(KD) As 30 May 2005 is a national holiday (Memorial Day) in the USA, the subject telcon is canceled.

 * Update of Specification Guidelines

(KD) The transition call occurred last week and it went well. The three remaining issues were explained: (1) Bug 1049 [1], (2) XML Core WG "Class of Products" comments [2] [not considered a strong issue], & (3) Comments from Al Gilman [6].

(KD) Karl will email a reply closing Bug 1049 to Ian Hickson [AI-20050527-01].

(KD,DM,LH) Bug 1052 - The XML Core WG objected to the definition of "Class of Products". The QA WG has difficulty understand the exact nature of their objection. David offered to draft a reply to the XML Code WG and not Paul Grosso [AI-20050527-02]. QA WG members should review and comment on it ASAP.

(KD) Al Gilman [6] three suggestions were then reviewed.

The suggested rewording of the Scope was considered too restrictive. After discussion, it was determined that a combination of the existing 1st and 3rd paragraphs would provide the same information without being overly restrictive. Lofton offered to draft some revised language and send it to the QA WG [AI-20050527-03]. QA WG members should review and comment on it ASAP.

(KD,RK) The second comment, concerning the usage of "which" vs. "that", was discussed. Richard mentioned that it had been corrected in a subsequent draft so this issue is resolved.

(KD,DM,LH) The proposed language sounded like an advertisement for the WCAG. It did not tie into the goals of the SPEC-GL. Karl offered to draft changes to section 3.3 adding a link to the QA Handbook and to incorporate appropriate ideas from Al Gilman [AI-20050527-04].
