Hello, Eleven people attended the 25 October Patent Policy Working Group (PPWG) teleconference. They discussed how best to ask for feedback from the W3C Advisory Committee (AC) which is holding its semi-annual meeting a week from now. PPWG Chair Danny Weitzner proposed that an email questionnaire about major W3C patent policy issues be sent to each AC representative on 29 October. The PPWG meeting was devoted to discussing the fine points of these questions. The questions cover preferences for RF and/or RAND Recommendations, Member licensing obligations, opt-out, and open source and free software implementation of W3C Recommendations. The PPWG reached consensus on the list of questions and their wording. The group briefly planned for a PPWG discussion period on 7 November at the AC Meeting.
