I Oppose the proposed Patent Policy Framework, dated August 16, 2001

I'm writing to say as a web developer that uses open source software, I
am opposed to the proposed Patent Policy Framework, dated August 16,
2001.
I believe the WC3's purpose should be more to increase the public
benefit of the web, not that of contributing WC3 developers, and the
public benefit of the web would be best served by NOT having RAND
licensing as an option. W3C work should continue to be done exclusively
on a Royalty-Free basis.

Thank you for your consideration.
