Don't mix standards with patents

W3C have done some great work, and managed to advance technology
without playing platform/industry favorites.  Don't flush all
that down the drain in the name of RAND.  Developers look to
W3C for "lawyer-free" protocols - once you dilute this perception,
W3C, and W3C standards are dead in the water.  Make sure you
do the right thing - not simply the easy thing.
