The web is based on open source free software. The proposed patent policy, in allowing for RAND licensing, would place a tariff on on open source software, making W3C complaint open source software impossible. Kill this proposal, it is simply an attempt by large software firms to leverage their bogus intellectual property claims into large sources of revenue. -- Matthew G. Saroff msaroff@pobox.com
