Possible future scenario: W3C releases XHTML 2.0 with the RAND licensing mode. The Open Source community reacts by creating a new organization and develops a royalty-free version (OpenXHTML or something). And we are back to square one, without a healthy web standard that makes life easier for web developers. W3C lose their place as a respected web standard organization and no one gets happier. Follow the ideals of Tim Berners-Lee: web standards should be free for everyone! Jonas Persson Web Developer, Sweden
