Dear Sirs, My humble comments. Surely you must realise that any standard which circumvents a free-world policy in favour of endosing any technologies or standards which are based on a patented or paid for model is an extremely bad idea. You also must realise that any standard encompassing a patented technology which may be free today, may not necessary be free tomorrow. As guardians of the web, and indeed the free communicating world, those alive and those as yet unborn have entrusted you to propose solutions which will ensure the progress of the human race as a whole both today and for a much further future.
