Patent Policy

I oppose your proposed RAND policy in regard to patents in standards.


Standards that are not free to use weaken the fabric of the Internet, which
was founded on open and free standards for the most part.  It creates de
facto monopolies, and fracturing of methods as open and free, but
nonstandard options become the method of choice for those wishing to avoid
licensing.
