I believe that allow private corporations to hold patents on w3c would harm the free exchange of information on the internet. Not only the exchange of information by free software that impliments w3c standards. In addition to harming the free use it will undermine w3c abilities to determines standards. If browser makers are required to pay on bogus software patents then they will simply break the standard to avoid the software patents. Without standards for interoperability the net will slowly crumble. Please reconsider removing the present requirements. Thanks, -Joshua Hoblitt -- jhoblitt@mysun.com
