Dear W3C members, I consider the move towards clinching protocol, and process models of protocol under patents to be a very sad development. It's not unknown that the "corporation" as an entity has a very, very low quotient of intelligence, even while the corporation is membered by people of brilliance. Personally, my internal reaction to this is strong enough to prompt me to begin discussion of a dismantling of the control of the W3C to the formative structure of information technologies. Perhaps the day of glory for the W3C has past, as the W3C now seems to have been purchased by a very stupid corporate intelligence. Please consider your position of value to be deteriorating. I propose you each return to the essence of reasoning, speak loudly and strongly against normalization of protocol into profit.
