Version 2 of JRC P3P reference implementation available

A NEW Version 2 of the JRC's P3P reference implementation is now available.

As you may know, the JRC has developed a reference implementation of the W3C's P3P1.0 standard. The resource centre and proxy agent along with documentation, open source software, tool kit, and model e-commerce site is available at http://p3p.jrc.it. This incorporates comments on the first version of the implementation from a group of data protection experts at a meeting in Ispra, Italy at the end of May 2002. The report of that meeting is available at the resource center from http://p3p.jrc.it/evalmeeting.php . Version 2 of the reference implementation has the following additional features:

a.. Improved speed of operation and upgrade to Java 1.4
b.. Improved user feedback interface giving detailed information on the entire P3P process going on in the background.
c.. A special P3P menu integrated into every HTML page.
  d.. Improved Preference creation interface.
e.. Complete P3P tool kit including manuals, policy and preference viewers and a special Evaluator for testing policies against preference sets.
f.. Improved identity management capabilities covering privacy preferences of end users.
g.. Local version of Agent which does not require a separate proxy server.
h.. Ability of local version to function through a company proxy.

Should you have any comments, we would be very happy to have them on the email given below
