This specification defines a general and flexible framework providing interoperability among modality-specific components from different vendors - for example, speech recognition from one vendor and handwriting recognition from another. The main normative change from the first Last Call Working Draft is removing the 'immediate' field from the following Life Cycle Events: .CancelRequest .PauseRequest Document title. --------------- Multimodal Architecture and Interfaces Document URI. ------------- This version: http://www.w3.org/TR/2011/WD-mmi-arch-20110906/ Latest version: http://www.w3.org/TR/mmi-arch/ Previous version: http://www.w3.org/TR/2011/WD-mmi-arch-20110125/ Instructions for providing feedback. ------------------------------------ Please send your comments to the Multimodal Interaction public mailing list <www-multimodal@w3.org>. When sending e-mail, please put the text "[ARCH]" in the subject, preferably like this: "[ARCH] .summary of comment." Review end date. ---------------- The Last Call period ends on 27 September 2011. Best regards, Deborah Dahl Multimodal Interaction Working Group Chair
