(discussion)
Ruby in DITA
felix: was contacted a while ago
... how to represent ruby in DITA
... some discussion
... "people should wait until html5 is settled"
... sent some pointers, etc.
... they seemed okay
... but not contacted again and eager to move forward
... want to know what's holding up html5
... I discussed details
... e.g. different types of ruby in japanese
... question of any way to help move it forward
... other thing was that they don't need 100% identical markup
... as long as can be transformed
... normal scenario of DITA is that you don't consume directly
... no reply yet, but don't think we should encourage other
forms of ruby markup?
... so: how can help? and what to define now?
richard: if wants to help
... write to html list and ask "what the @#$ is going on with
ruby?"
... want to implement and need progress
felix: some concern about doing in public
richard: can just say "dita needs ruby markup, waiting for
you...", doesn't need to discuss specifics
addison: think we know what html is going to do?
richard: haven't heard from robin or the implementer guy of
late
... encourage ebook folks to write too
<scribe> ACTION: addison: contact the epub folks and see if
