I don't recall even once the HTML WG discussing EOL'ing the <style> element, nor do I think that would be within anyone's best interests. There is still some question on how XSL stylesheets will work with XHTML (since the attachment mechanism for XML currently is quite different than used in XHTML). But I suspect we'll work that one out when the time comes. *sigh* One thing about being first over the bridge is you're more likely to be the one who steps on the landmine.
