background image tiling

Hi all,
Since I had know response last time, Ill try again:-
Is there a way to stop a browser from tiling the background image, and
get it to stretch it, with some kind of scripting or command within the
page source?

My problem:-
 I am currently
authoring a site with some virtual rooms set in a frameset on an
internal network.
One particular image map link goes to a page (within the same frame)
which has
a background image representing a black board (or chalk board) with a
timber frame, the problem being is that I don't want the image to tile
as it does if someone opens the image with a browser set to a resolution

greater than 800*600 because
the frame is set to a % not a direct pixel size. (No I can not make it a

set pixel size to match the background image size as this frame column
size is not controlled by me)

Is there any way I can get around this, some one told me cascading style

sheets
might solve my problem, but at this time ccs can not be an option on
this page as the network it is published on only supports netscape 3
which does not support ccs.
The other thing is, I don't know enough about ccs to utilize it in my
circumstance anyway.

Any help to my cause would be greatly appreciated,
Daniel.
