Dear Colleagues, Problem: W3C HTML 4.0 standard implies <IMG ID= is OK but <IMG NAME= is not allowed. Netscape (NS) 3.03 and 4.05 software recognize and use <IMG NAME= but ignore <IMG ID= . Suggestion: Adjust HTML standard to allow future browser products to accept <IMG NAME= as a synonym for <IMG ID= and allow both keywords (as in <IMG NAME= ID= ) if both values are identical. Rationale: Allow HTML written now to work better with future browser products and future HTML standards. Sincerely, Charles A. Finnell http://comp.uark.edu/~finnell/
