Hello Robin, This is a comment on http://darobin.github.io/html-ruby/snapshot20130225.html#the-rp-element It says "The rp element can be used to provide parentheses around a ruby text component of a ruby annotation, to be shown by user agents that don't support ruby annotations." That definition is misleading, as a too-fast reader might imagine that it says "can only be used to provide parentheses". Several examples in your spec indicate that it is used for general fallback text, of which parentheses is a common example. I suggest the following text as it is clearer: "The rp element is used to provide fallback text to be shown by user agents that don't support ruby annotations. One widespread convention is to provide parentheses around the ruby text component of a ruby annotation. The contents of the rp elements are typically not displayed by user agents which do support ruby annotations." -- Best regards, Chris mailto:chris@w3.org
