You are always welcome to debate HTML5; it has been an open process since 
its inception six years ago. We have literally over a thousand people 
subscribed to the WHATWG mailing list, and literally hundreds of people 
have actively contributed to HTML5's development:

You can also participate in open debate by posting to the WHATWG blog, or 
by taking part in the WHATWG forums, or by participating in the many W3C
