I am running Amaya 8.0 on Win32. When attempting to load multiline text into a textarea, whitespace is not preserved. The source (abbreviated) is: > <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> > <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN" > "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd"> > <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en"> .. . . > <form action="servlet/Notepad" method="post"> > <table> > <caption>Save a note.</caption> > <tr><td><textarea name="note" cols="55" rows="20">I can save notes!!!! > > > More note text, etc.</textarea></td></tr> > <tr><td><input type="submit" value="Save Note" /></td></tr> > </table> > </form> .. . . This code loaded ignoring whitespace in Amaya. I did not have this problem in any other browser (Internet Explorer 6.0, Mozilla 1.3.1, Opera 7.0, or Lynx 2.8.3). I solved the problem by adding xml:space="preserve" to it, however xml:space is not defined for textarea in XHTML 1.1. Running it through the W3C Validator, I recieved the following error message when xml:space is present: > 1. Line 48, column 20: there is no attribute "xml > > xml:space="preserve">I can save notes!!!! > ^ Could somebody please look into this bug? Thanks in advance, Lenny ===== >From Lenny Domnitser <Ldrhcp@yahoo.com> __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo! Search - Faster. Easier. Bingo. http://search.yahoo.com
