More bugs in 8 July release

Some more bugs:

1. <BR> nor supported?

2. The algorithm that computes the width of table cells sometimes
gives surprising results. Try it on the W3C home page.

3. Spanned rows don't seem to count when computing the height of the
table. I tried putting the large column on the W3C home page on the
left (that was easy! just select it, cut, move to first cell, then
paste), the column widths are now OK, but the first column extends
below the table.
