Hi Steve, > in the current editors draft of the authoring practices spec [1] the > advice on the media player widget is absent any timeline on this being > populated? It's in the pipeline, but I have no fix on when it might be addressed. There is an action in tracker to fix a number of problems in the "Design Patterns" section, and the media player is one of them. But there is only the beginnings of a proposal there [2]: > Media player: > (http://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/aria-practices/Overview.html#mediaplayer) > Problem: blank. > It's not clear which ARIA states/properties apply, if any. A media > player is 'playing' or 'paused'; and may have 'volume', 'captions', > 'described video', 'current time', 'length', and 'chapters' properties. > It can also include 'fast-forward' or 'rewind" states. > The DHTML Style Guide lists keystrokes for a media player [3], and they could be copied over to the APG, but I think they are out-of-date. IMHO, the style guide keystrokes don't match, for example the YouTube or QuickTime players. For example, the space bar is what is typically used for play/pause, not ctrl+alt+p. Perhaps the best thing to do is raise an issue in tracker. I've done that [4].
