It's in the pipeline, but I have no fix on when it might be addressed.
There is an action in tracker to fix a number of problems in the "Design
Patterns" section, and the media player is one of them. But there is
only the beginnings of a proposal there [2]:

The DHTML Style Guide lists keystrokes for a media player [3], and they
could be copied over to the APG, but I think they are out-of-date.
IMHO, the style guide keystrokes don't match, for example the YouTube or
QuickTime players. For example, the space bar is what is typically used
for play/pause, not ctrl+alt+p.
Perhaps the best thing to do is raise an issue in tracker. I've done
that [4].
