thank you VERY much for your test results -- so far, VoiceOver and
Opera (running on Mac OS?) are the only configuration (yet) which supports 
exposure of CSS-generated content to an assistive technology...

anyone with any other configurations (such as, Orca and FF3 on Linux;
anyone using a refreshable braille display; anyone with a copy of 
HAL or SuperNova; anyone using supplemental speech with screen 
magnification; and so on)
