But I was trying to make the point that many people will not get to read such documents, if you use such cryptic announcements. You need to clearly say what it is you are suggesting be read and why. An announcement should, I suggest, include the name of the document, a paragraph from the document (to explain what it is for) and the URL of the document. If I receive a message headed "Please read" with part of a URL (as you supplied), I would normally assume it is some sort of scam and delete it without reading further or clicking on any links. But this is probably not the place to have a discussion of what the W3C should put in its announcements. I have written to the W3C HQ proposing they issue a recommended format for announcements.
