disposition of BAD comments

Dear EOWG,

Please find below a proposed disposition of the most recent comments on
the Before and After Demo (BAD) for your review:

Resolution: reject
Rationale: out of scope for this version; on the wishlist for future

[2] <http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/w3c-wai-ig/2011OctDec/0098>

Comment #2: (1.1) add skip link to site navigation [3]
Resolution: reject - skip links improved elsewhere (see comment #11)
Rationale: it is ~2 tabs from the skip link to the site navigation
[3] <http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/w3c-wai-ig/2011OctDec/0099>

Comment #3: (1.2) keep focus on page change [3]
Resolution: reject
Rationale: page is reloaded (rather than dynamically generated)
[3] <http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/w3c-wai-ig/2011OctDec/0099>

Comment #4: (1.3) focus indicator on sub-menu is not distinguishable [3]
Resolution: accept - fix bug (there should be icons appearing)
Rationale: this was the initial design but there is a bug in the CSS
[3] <http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/w3c-wai-ig/2011OctDec/0099>

Comment #5: (2.1) markup tab structure as tabs (using WAI-ARIA) rather
than as a list [3]
Resolution: reject
Rationale: in this case a list is sufficiently similar user experience
to tabs, and WAI-ARIA is not well supported
[3] <http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/w3c-wai-ig/2011OctDec/0099>

Comment #6: (1) tone down white on red highlighting for links [4]
Resolution: reject
Rationale: it meets WCAG requirements and would be a big design change
[4] <http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/w3c-wai-ig/2011OctDec/0102>

Comment #7: (2) tone up highlighting for form controls [4]
Resolution: accept - form controls now have same highlighting as links
Rationale: controls should be consistent with styling for links
[4] <http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/w3c-wai-ig/2011OctDec/0102>

Comment #8: (1) communicate change when annotations are activated [5]
Resolution: accept - "Annotations" now in the title and first heading
Rationale: because the page is reloaded the change is communicated
[5] <http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/w3c-wai-ig/2011OctDec/0105>

Comment #9: (2) markup tab structure as tabs (using WAI-ARIA) rather
than as a list (see also comment #5) [5]
Resolution: reject
Rationale: in this case a list is sufficiently similar user experience
to tabs, and WAI-ARIA is not well supported
[5] <http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/w3c-wai-ig/2011OctDec/0105>

Comment #9: (2a) keep focus on page change (see also comment #3) [5]

Rationale: page is reloaded (rather than dynamically generated)
[5] <http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/w3c-wai-ig/2011OctDec/0105>

Comment #10: (3) list items not exposed properly in Firefox [5]
Resolution: pending - looking into it
Rationale: cannot replicate the issue on my setup
[5] <http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/w3c-wai-ig/2011OctDec/0105>

Comment #11: (4) skip links are confusing [5]
Resolution: accept - revised skip links
Rationale: skip link texts were not worded consistently
[5] <http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/w3c-wai-ig/2011OctDec/0105>

Comment #12: add example of accessible CAPTCHA [6]
