This is another wordsmithing action item 2.7.7 Portable Preference Settings: The user can transfer preference settings across locations onto a compatible system. (Level AAA) @@ 641 (just accessibility issues, how to tell what should move, what is measurabe? PROPOSED: Intent of Success Criterion 2.7.7 : Setting up accessibility requirements may be a very complex and time consuming task for some users. Some users hire assistive technology professional trainers to do their system setup. Schools and universities need to maintain accessibility settings across multiple machines. Users who have spent time customizing accessibility preferences to meet their requirements need easily migrate preference setting to another compatible device. Accesssibiliy features are the features required to meet UAAG 2.0 Principles 1, 2 & 3 [check for exceptions] Examples of Success Criterion 2.7.7 : Lori is a rehabilitation specialist who works with clients to customize their electronics and assistive technology to their needs. She sets up a new system for Ray, and saves a backup of the accessibility setting for Ray and for herself. She keeps electronic backup of her clients configurations that she can quickly email to them if they lose their settings. Ray is blind and uses a screenreader to on his desktop and the voice application on his phone. He sets up the web-based email application accessibility preferences on a mobile device. These preferences are reflected in the desktop version of that web-based email application. Trisha is a 4th grader with low vision. When she goes to different classrooms in her school, she carries a USB stick with her accessibility settings so she and her teachers do not have to use class-time customizing her computer.
