Re: In-page links: Href with no corresponding ID

On this topic, what about if you have a link which is not necessarily a skip link but just supplementary, such as a ‘back to top’ link which controls the viewport through some javascript for example, but doesn’t actually redirect keyboard focus? So actioning it with the keyboard, the viewport moves, but to a screen reader user nothing appears to happen, and a keyboard only user is still required to tab through the page.
