Re: question about use of aria-owns

Not tried your specific case here, but just a word of warning that 
aria-owns effectively makes it look, from an accessibility 
tree/structure point of view, like the things you're pointing to with 
the attribute are effectively child elements of the element. that can 
quickly turns into a completely nonsensical structure that is hard or 
impossible to sensibly convey by assistive technologies, at least last 
time I wrestled with it.
