Patrick, An excellent call out and my error. I should have re-read the email to make sure I had the right context worded. Hence I retract the sentence you pointed out below. Teaches myself sending emails out in the early morning. What I should have said instead: Apple and google references there design / native SDKs documentation for making native apps accessible. I did send another email to obtain more information on silver (GA). This email doesn't appear to have been sent. Is there any public info on this new standard? Noting that if you're doing an ACR/VPAT, you generally reference WCAG 2.x as well. So regardless of what Apple or Google may say/comment, WCAG is indeed referenced officially by Section 508 and EN 301 549. And yes, by design, WCAG is for web technologies (it's in the name). With a few exceptions though, the principles and requirements underlying SCs are tech agnostic. Also yes, the idea behind Silver is that it will be even more agnostic/applicable to all sorts of things beyond pure web technologies (for better or worse). P -- Patrick H.
