Terrill, This is a wonderful idea! Thanks for starting this CG. One suggestion to help gain more uptake is to provide some examples after the text ‘ensure playlists’ in the mission sentence on the Community Group page. In other words add something like: ensure playlists (such as those found in online media/video subscription services/systems like: HBO, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc.)…. * katie * Katie Haritos-Shea Chair, WAI Interest Group W3C Web Accessibility Initiative JOIN US: Subscribe to the WAI IG list, send an email to <mailto:wai-wai-ig-request@w3.org> wai-wai-ig-request@w3.org with “subscribe” as the subject line. In order to distribute accessible media using HTML5 media and track elements, there are potentially many resources affiliated with each title: A media source file (potentially in multiple formats), caption file, multiple subtitle files, description files, chapter files, metadata files, and source files for accompanying sign language videos in various sign languages. We need a playlist format that allows all of these resources to be identified. If you're interested in getting involved in such a group, please vote your support here: https://www.w3.org/community/blog/2016/06/02/proposed-group-accessible-playlist-community-group/ Cheers, Terrill --- Terrill Thompson Technology Accessibility Specialist DO-IT, Accessible Technology Services UW Information Technology University of Washington tft@uw.edu <mailto:tft@uw.edu>
