You only need to expand the first occurrence of an abbreviation needs to be expanded, so if you had UNO expanded elsewhere it would be fine to use in an alt or title attribute. On link titles: I wouldn't bother putting a title on a link to a home page - you should have other elements to orient the user - such as the site name in the title. If it is a sub site then I would indicate this in the link text. On abbreviation: I have thought that expanded every occurrence of an abbreviation though the title attribute kind of defeats the purpose of the abbreviation. YMMV. kind regards Terrence Wood.
