> - To convey the values (brand) of the organisation the website represents > (ie, set the mood) In the more enlightened areas of the "web design" community, there is an expression "image replacement", which is basically hacks for having your primary (fully sighted, modern browser) audience see stylised text implemented in bitmap images, whilst having simple browsers render the text. This could be considered an aspect of branding, but it is more than just logos. The more common, and less enlightened part of the community, simply produce large amounts of the text only as images!
