i'd also recommend opera.  but if you don't want to install a whole browser
use bookmarklets in IE or Mozilla

a good one, for example, is the 'zap style sheets' on this page:

bookmarklets, in case you've never used them before, are really handy and
easy to use.  just drag the bookmarklet link on the above site to your
browser's personal toolbar.  then - when on a page you want to check - just
click on your bookmarklet.

you might want to check out the web developers toolbar too.
