> Could anyone recommend a good user-friendly, Content Management System > which produces accessible code? Further to the previous answers, and particularly given Jon's shameless self promotion (!!) we have also developed a Content Management System that produces accessible code, but the unusual thing (apparently) is that the CMS itself is also accessible to AAA standards. This was developed as part of an online project for a UK charity called Birmingham Focus on Blindness, where we developed an accessible site that can be seen at www.birminghamfocus.org.uk. This was developed with the invaluable assistance of several people with disabilities from the Self Direction Community Project who provided the vitally important 'third tier' of verification, the first being automated code verification, and the second being our professional knowledge to ensure that the site was accessible. We believe that the only way to create true online accessibility is by using this three tier approach. The challenge that we set ourselves was to build a CMS that would enable a blind staff member to update a site designed for blind people, and I believe that we have achieved this. The site is currently shortlisted in the British Interactive Media Association awards, although we are up against stiff competition in the form of two major UK financial institutions and Manchester United FC. Our next challenge is the development of a truly accessible e-commerce system - we are not satisfied that this has been developed to the best potential, and as a result we are turning our attention to this to see what we can come up with between now and February. I'll keep you informed.
