Haven't followed the recent thread on greek characters (I think) but did see
Kynn's comments on transforming MathML to English. Seemed like a good idea
to me (one of the great benefits of XML!) and couldn't see any problems. I
asked whether anyone has heard or knows of anything on another list and got
the following reply which looks very promissing!! I haven't got time to
follow it up at the moment but thought I'd let you all know in case anyone
else feels the urge to investigate.

been some work on MathMl to (French) Braille (see the implementations
page for MathML implementations) There has also been some work on
on voice rendering for Mathml, but I haven't seen the details of that.
