I just began a thread on this and it is not the only site that has implemented this. currently, there are two work arounds that do not provide parity. one is to use a .wav file that a person can listen to and input the info and the other is to ask someone to call you to confirm your registration. I do understand though that this problem is being researched by yahoo for fixing. By the way, I believe that this violates the wcag by providing an image with text in it only. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Helle Bjarnø" <hbj@visinfo.dk> To: "W3c-Wai-Ig (E-mail)" <w3c-wai-ig@w3.org> Sent: Monday, January 28, 2002 7:18 AM Subject: RE: Yahoogroups and blind users - sorry for being a bit off topi c Can any body on this list tell me about this new feature from Yahoo: "Yahoogroups has implemented a security feature to stop automated programs from spuriously registering yahoo accounts." cited from an e-mail send to me by a college who got the information from another list. We would like to have information about what the reaction has been in the US both from users and from Yahoo if any? Sorry for being a bit Off Topic please mail answers to me directly, in order not to insult this list. I have looked in the IG archive but not found any notice of this new Yahoo feature.
