Dear All, Further to my previous message I have done some more trawling through Web pages. This is by far the best article on building accessible sites for those with a variety of disabilities and there are several links to places that will help design for dylexics. I hope that this is of help. I will keep looking after the weekend and have emailed some people I know who work in the area of dyslexia and see if there are any papers out there that explicitly deal with learning difficulties. I have also included the Google search query as I have only looked at a couple. http://www.infotoday.com/MMSchools/nov98/voic1198.htm http://www.google.com/search?num=50&hl=en&lr=lang_en&q=%22designing%22+%22dyslexia%22+web&btnG=Google+Search Good luck, hope this can help in some way. I suppose I am considering those people who have personal circumstances which might affect their mastery of written language. For example, those people who have been deaf from birth and possibly, some students with specific learning disabilities. Current discussion seems to focus around text reading as the only key to accessibility; which is not surprising given the traditional emphasis on the written word in education. I am interested to find research which helps establish whether or not there is any advantage in using animation as an additional tool for accessibility. Can anyone help me out? Or at least point me in the right direction?
