RE: Caution about Style Sheets

Good. Along that line, Rob, I have found several references to turning off
style sheets in IE but none work completely for me. It is obvious in
Netscape, and works (Edit, Preferences, Advanced, uncheck "enable Style
Sheets"), but in IE 5.03 I have not found a way to completely turn off style
sheets except by saving and then deleting or renaming the style sheet(s). Do
you know of a sure method for turning off style sheets in IE?

The most complete "turn off" I have found is in Tools | Internet Options |
Accessibility, check the three ignore boxes and then enable an empty style
sheet. But this is not the same as loading with the author's style sheet not
present.

This becomes a testing issue.  Unless the agency or person is specifically
designing and testing for it.  This will not happen.  But first, test
requirements must be developed.

But the question is, how can your page be inaccessible when style sheets are
turned off? There is no reason to have a "requirement" of being sure (i.e.,
testing that) your page is readable with style sheets turned off, if it will
always be readable. So my question is what do you caution content developers
to avoid in their use of style sheets.? What can go wrong?

Maybe it's because some browsers can't/don't/won't use style sheet
technology--Lynx, for example. iCab for another.
