Here is yet more information about the hearing which you may find useful, provided by Cyndi Rowland, Project Director of Web Accessibility in Mind: - Original Message - Here is some information that may be helpful for all of us interested in having our voices heard on the importance of the ADA including the Internet. You all are aware by now of the House Subcommittee Hearing on the ADA's applicability to the Internet which will be held Wednesday, Feb. 9th at 1pm in Wash D.C. (Rayburn House Office Bldg.). I was interested in finding out how I could have my comments accepted into the Congressional Record for this important issue. I called around and this is what I found out. Comments WILL BE ACCEPTED into record if they are RECEIVED within 5 legislative days of the Hearing. They should be addressed to: Mr. Charles T. Canady Chairman, Subcommittee on the Constitution 362 Ford House Office Building Washington, DC 20515 If you are interested in any other information about the hearing or the process the phone number for the Subcommittee is (202) 226-7680. Paul Taylor is the staff member assigned to this hearing. I will hope many of you will watch or tune into the hearings (assuming they are covered) and WILL WRITE A LETTER expressing your comments. These BECOME PART OF THE PUBLIC RECORD, and as such are a very important vehicle for us all. I think we will all be very interested in Wednesday's proceedings.
