Hi David, The browser can't do it for you, there will still be author requirements. The preference is set by the user, then you would have to put the transitions in a media query (CSS) or if-statement (JS) so that it doesn't apply when the user has set the preference. If you look at the WebKit link in my previous email, it shows the techniques. -Alastair Apologies for typos, sent from a mobile. ________________________________ From: David MacDonald <david100@sympatico.ca> Sent: Friday, December 15, 2017 6:05:55 PM To: Alastair Campbell Cc: WCAG Subject: Re: motion or scaling animations One last question What are the obligations of the authors if Browsers build this in? is this passive voice text "...can be disabled without preventing the action" the new equivalent to "a mechanism is available..."? Agreed, that data should help to scope it (or bolster the argument for the scope), but the SC text would have to change to support that. > I'm not going to fall on my sword over it... at AAA there are all sorts of things that are not practicable for many organizations... If the browser support improves this becomes quite practical, the fall-back (not-using those type of animations or adding an on-screen control) are less so. Anyway, are we happy with the SC text?
