Re: AGWG meeting May 25, 2017

Hi everyone,

I’ve been working on resize content – now “zoom content” based on comments!

There is updated SC text, updated description, and new FAQ section here:

Top line changes:
- Now at level AA
- The term “fixed spatial layout” is replaced in favour of re-phrasing the SC to use “two-dimensional layout”.
- A note is added to provide examples of what requires a two-dimensional layout.
- “Resize content” changed to “Zoom content”.

The rest is in the description/testing/FAQ underneath.

The remaining issues I see are:

- What if the text is already huge? 
(I’m not sure what to do with this, I haven’t come across that in practice).

- What about native text inputs which are only one line, as filling it in will require scrolling.
From testing, a native input with 300px width and 16px text will fit over 25 characters. Not sure that helps.

Would we consider a single line input as something that has a particular 2D layout?

- A more intuitive method of saying "without requiring scrolling in the direction of text"
Open to suggestions, they need to be better than the current SC text and “two dimensional scrolling”

- We have two resize SCs at AA now, should we promote 1.4.4 to A?

- Is it ok to have the 1280px starting point in the testability section but not the SC? 
If not, should we move to saying, "content should work at 320 CSS pixels wide".
