Critiques of Techniques

OK,
	Greetings Everyone here goes..........................

For the TECHNIQUES:
Thought #1.) I have not had the time to talk to Wendy about this
yet (Sorry Wendy)......for the opening splash I suggest having a QuickLinks
list down the right side, as on the new main W3C (www.w3.org), minus the
HRs:
		QUICKLINKS
		Structure/Presentation
		Text Equivalents
		Alternate Pages
		Keyboard Access
		Navigation
		Comprehension
		Content Negotiation
		Auto. Page Refresh
` Screen Flicker
		Bundled Documents
		Validation
		Browser Support
		Accessible Technologies
		Audio Info
		Visual/Motion Info
I realize that these links seem to mimic the Table of Contents, but
this places people quickly where they might wish to be, without scrolling.
This may help to avoid intimidating more elementary users, and give quick
access to veterans.

Thought #2.) There appears to be a typo on 5.8 Automatic page
refresh, 4th word on line three, of the #1. bullet. I think you mean it to
say "be", not "by".

Thought #3.) Under 5.3 Alternative pages, in the second area of
numbered bullets. #1.
"Provide links at the top......." Small point here, but, wouldn't it be
more convenient for a blind user to also have a link back to the graphic
page at the BOTTOM of the text page as well, first link after the end of the
content?

Thought #4.) On 5.9 Screen flicker, I have heard several
web-designers question the flashing/flickering animations of FLASH and some
of the javascript mouse-overs that appear to flicker. Should we address
this?

Thought #5.) This is an area I am least versed on, but, 5.15 Audio
Information..........isn't it RealMedia (the company that makes RealPlayer)
doing the most with the streaming media format? I cannot recall the name of
the format......................

Anyway, that is my 2 cents.................................Katie
