2 recent public activities: 1. Techshare conference 20-21 November 2003 (Birmingham UK) It was aimed at professionals who work in the field of sight loss, or have an interest in technology. It had a significant number of workshops and presentations concerning web accessibility. Bunnyfoot Universality gave a presentation entitled: <http://www.rnib.org.uk/xpedio/groups/public/documents/publicwebsite/public_jondodd.hcsp>Failings of the tick box approach to web accessibility Which presented the case for accessibility and urged the audience to think beyond mere technical compliance - user testing with an appropriate range of people (including people with disabilities) is a must. Compliance, accessibility and the law 16th December (Newcastle UK) The stick of legislation is used to raise awareness about accessibility to business leaders in this free seminar/workshop. A team of legal, technical and educational experts cover the issues from different perspectives and provide a platform for discussion and learning. (Bunnyfoot Universality will present the business case for accessiblity) This is the first in a series of similar events to take place over the coming year.
