(Given the importance of this definition, I thought I should give it a separate thread.) Original Proposal: http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/w3c-wai-au/2007JulSep/0040.html "USE BY OTHER PEOPLE" Modification to "authoring tool": http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/w3c-wai-au/2007JulSep/0043.html BF's comment (near bottom of message): http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/w3c-wai-au/2007JulSep/0048.html JR's reply (near bottom of message): http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/w3c-wai-au/2007JulSep/0051.html ------ Current Proposed wording: ATAG 2.0 defines an "authoring tool" as any software, or *collection of software components*, that *authors* use to create or modify *Web content* for USE BY OTHER PEOPLE. ------ Is this ok? Could it be tightened up somehow to exempt content that is being sent directly to a person who's accessibility requirements are known? Any other issues? Cheers, Jan
